What’s the Difference Between Stress and Anxiety?

Stress and anxiety are emotional responses to something challenging, frightening, or threatening. They may have overlapping symptoms but are not quite the same.

Stress typically has a specific trigger, such as a looming deadline, relationship conflict, financial strain, or a hectic schedule. Once the stressor has passed, stress tends to subside.
